Bursting with exciting and thought-provoking objects to handle and explore, fun games, engaging activities, and classroom discussion topics, our chests are enhanced with a range of digital resources including living history videos, craft activities, and other links.

Your students will get a real taste of what life was really like aboard a turn-of-the-century ship, learn why Glaswegian ships were recognised as the best in the world, and respond creatively to a wide range of stimuli.

These chests can either act as a preliminary introduction to the ship and its history before a class visit or simply as a stand-alone resource. Our chests are designed for teachers to select activities and resources that are suitable and appropriate for their classes, with a wide range of outcomes for the Curriculum for Excellence available. Topics supported can include anything from Glaswegian and Scottish history, pirates, ship-building, trading, and transport.

Chests can be borrowed per week for a single class, or a longer period can be accommodated if there are multiple classes interested!

£30 for one week, £50 for two and longer periods can be discussed.
